A geometric mean is an omitted number in the geometric number pattern. Finding these means, especially if there are more than one omitted in a row, requires knowing what the common ratio, r, value is between terms. From your first known term, count how many r's are being multiplied to get to the next known term. Then set up an equation to solve for r: be careful!! If r is being raised to an even power, then you'll have two r's to deal with and multiple possible sequences going on!
