The explicit formula for a sequence tells you how to find any term in the number pattern, usually called the "n'th" term. If you want the 100th term, you substitute in n = 100, etc. Here, we'll look at how to find the first four terms either by substituting in the values one through four, or using a shortcut by finding a pattern.
