Using what we know about the bases of exponents, we can re-write terms of an exponential equation using the same base in order to solve exponential equations. This method is useful because it doesn't require any logs. Errors come with being imprecise with the rules of exponents, such as exponents to a power. These can often be done using more than one base, like 2 or 4 or even 2 or 1/2 , but the final answer should always be verified in the original equation when you're done.
