We solve an inequality in essentially the same way that we solve any equation- but we need to flip the direction of the < or > sign if we multiply or divide by a negative number. Isolate the variable in the same way that you would for an equation, using opposite operations. It is always helpful to check a value in your solution set to make sure it works in the original inequality problem.
