To factor, we want to "undistribute," or turn a sum or difference of monomials into a product. We look for the greatest common factor of the numerical constant terms and write that outside parentheses. Then we look at each term in the polynomial and think about what we would have to multiply that GCF number by in order to arrive at each term. Be careful with + or - signs!
