Mean, media, and mode are all ways to represent the "center," or typical value of a data set. Mean is like average- we add up all of the values and divide by how many we have. Median is the value in the middle- arrange the values from least to greatest, and count to the middle value. If there are two middle values, find the average of the two. The mode of a data set is the value that occurs most frequently. All of these could be reported as a typical, or center value depending on the situation.
