If both variables increase together, we say that the variables are positively correlated. If one goes up when the other goes down, we call it negative correlation. If there is no clear pattern, we can say there is no correlation. Use a ruler to draw a line of best fit where some points lie above and some below the line. You can use this line to make predictions about how other data values will be related.
