To multiply decimals, ignore the decimal points and multiply the numbers. Then replace the decimal point with as many places as there were total in the original two numbers. For division, move the decimal on the second number as many spots as are required to make it a whole number. Then perform the division, and later replace the decimal spot that you moved earlier.
