To organize our subtraction of decimals, we need to align them vertically so we know which values to subtract from which. This can be tricky if you're working with negative numbers- consider rounding in your head to determine which to subtract from which. First, write the numbers with the decimal points on top of each other. Then add zeros to the shorter decimal to make them have the same length. From there, you can subtract as you would any numbers and put the decimal where you lined it up.
