To reduce a fraction, you need to re-write both top and bottom in most factored form and then look for common factors on top and bottom to cross out. Once the bottom is fully factored, set each factor equal to zero and solve for x to find any excluded values, which are values of x that would have you dividing by zero. Use factors of the original denominator to find all of the excluded values.
