Many items that we own or buy depreciate in value over time- that is, they get to be worth less and less money as they get older. We can model this depreciation with an arithmetic sequence to predict the value of an item after a certain amount of time. In this example, we look at the price of a car that goes down $2000 per year to find the expected value after 10 years.
