Solving a simple logarithmic equation in logarithmic form. Whenever we see an equation in logarithmic form, the easiest way to solve this out is to put it into exponential form and then solve accordingly.

So for this particular example, we have two terms in the log that's perfectly fine, so we still do the same steps in order to solve it. Put in exponential form so the 2 is going to come around leaving us with 3x plus 1 is equal to 2² and now we just solve this as we would any other equation. 2² is 4, we end up with 3x plus 1 is equal to 4, subtract 1, 3x is equal to 3, x is equal to 1.

So solving a simple logarithmic equation, put in exponential form and solve.
