Often, students aim to use the point-slope form of an equation to write the equation for a line that is parallel or perpendicular to a given line through a given point. This is a good plan, but it's hard to know which variables to fill in (those with subscripts) and which to leave as variables (the plain x and y.) From there, solve for y to get the slope-intercept form of the line.
