As with any system of equations, there are a variety of solving methods for a system of conics: substitution, elimination, graphing are most common. Here we use elimination to solve a system with an ellipse and a hyperbola. Be extremely careful with + - square roots in order to keep all solutions. In this case, we draw a sketch to show how we could expect 4 solutions.
