Think of your essay as an opportunity, not an obstacle, to show the college admissions officer who you really are. As you may have heard, making the hook interesting will guarantee grabbing the admissions officer’s attention. Make sure that that your passionate about what you choose to talk about and that you are revealing and reflective about your experiences. Be authentic in your tone of voice and the things you share. Also, you always want to show not tell. Don’t say you’re hard-working, show how you’re hard-working. Finally, make sure that you answer the college essay and that you fully complete your story with a strong conclusion.
