The MIT application is a little different from other college applications, but if you follow these 8 tips, you’ll have no problems filling it out successfully: 1. You can fill out Part I and Part II concurrently. This gives you a lot of flexibility as to what you would like to complete first, although it’s always recommended that you begin with Part I. 2. Your MIT homepage will tell you who your interviewer is. Contact him or her as soon as possible so you can schedule and appointment before they’re all booked up. 3. You have to add in all your grades. You’ll still have to send in all your transcripts so make sure you enter all your grades correctly. 4. Be careful with word limitation. Sometimes, you can enter more words than the limit allows, but when you go to print preview, you’ll see that part of your essay will be cut off. Follow the guidelines carefully. 5. You can submit supplemental information through a special portal on the site. 6. You have to submit test scores for the SAT, ACT, or TOEFL. You also have to submit test scores for the SAT Subject Test Level 1 or Level 2 as well as one test score for a Science Subject exam. 7. You can only include 5 activities, 3 summer activities, and 3 jobs, so only choose your most important ones. 8. You can print preview this application as many times as you want.
