You can make unlimited edits to the Common Application before sending it to each college with the exception of the personal statement and letters of recommendation. You can only change your college essay three times which means that you have to be strategic about which colleges to apply to with each college essay you upload. Also, you are only able to upload one letter of recommendation for each teacher so make sure that it doesn’t mention any specific college within it. Lastly, make sure that you go through the Questions sections of every college that you add to the Common Application. Sometimes, the dashboard will say that a college doesn’t require any additional essays, but the only way to truly know if that’s correct is by checking the Questions section of each college. Also, remember that you can only apply up to 20 colleges with the Common App so choose wisely.
