if you want to eliminate x, you would have to multiply the 1st equation by 3 and the 2nd equation by -2 to get rid of their denominators and to cancel out x in the 2nd eq.*do this in both sides3(x/3+y/2=11/6)3-2(x/2+y/3=7/3)-2 then it'll becomex+(3y/2)=33/6-x-(2y/3)=-14/3 it will result to5y/6=5/6 divide both sides by 5/6y=1 then plug in the value of y in any of the 2 equationsx/3+y/2=11/6x/3+1/2=11/6 multiply both sides again by 3 to get rid of x's denominator3(x/3+1/2=11/6)3x+3/2=33/6 subtract 3/2 on both sidesx=33/6 - 3/2x=14check it if you want to be sure:) hope i helped
