Pamela -There are 360 degrees in a circle so, a sector with a 90 degree central angle is equal to 1/4 of the area.  Think of a pie that is cut into four slices.  Each slice is a 90 sector of the pie.  Make sense? The area of that piece of pie, like the sector, is equal to 1/4.All you have to do know is find the area of that circle and multiply it by 1/4.  I'll leave if for you to finish up the math.Hope that helps

Since the angle is 90 the area is 1/4 time  of the total area. Find the total area , find the 1/4 that is the answer

find the area of the whole circle, which is pi times 16.  then multiply by 1/4.  the answer is 4pi.
