Caroline -If you don't have the book "Hot X: Algebra Exposed" by Danica McKellar, I suggest you pick up a copy or check one out at your local library.  Why?  Because she writes a great section on LCM and GCF.The answer to your problem is:LCM = (x+y)(x-y)(x^2)Read chapter 2 starting on page 15 of her book.  It will help you tremendously!
