a. Both organisms must ingest food, remove wastes, respond to stimuli, exchange gases with the environment, respond to stimuli, grow and repair, and reproduce. Choose any three of these functions and compare and contrast the way they take place in an amoeba and a human.

My input on this is the fact that while an amoeba has organelles for their different functions, humans have many specialized cells that each have their own specific job. hope this helps!

This AP biology type question requires you to distinguish between multicellular organism systems like our excretory systems(sweat glands, urninary system, large intestine), our digestive system (mouth, teeth, tongue, esophagus, stomach, small intestines, large intestines), the respiratory system (nostrils, sinus cavity, epiglottis, trachea, bronchioles, lungs, alveoli, red blood cells, hemoglobin, left atria, left ventricle, aorta and on to the cell for delivery of the oxygen).  On the other hand, the amoeba is single celled.  Lysosomes digest food.  It gets its food by capturing using pseudopods and then endocytosis.  Waste is removed with vesicles fusing with the cell membrane through exocytosis.  All growth occurs through protein production and vesicle membrane fusing with the cell membrane.  This would probably be a 2 paragraph answer and you would have about 23 minutes to answer it.
