In order to represent root eight on a number line, one must first simplify root eight. Eight can be divided by four and two, four being a perfect square, therefore making eight's factors two, two, and two. Take one pair of twos and place it outside the root, simplifying the root to two root two. The square root of two is approximately one point four. Multiply one point four by two, and you get two point eight. Graph accordingly.
