if (1/3, -5) is a solution then -3x - 10y = 51 when x = 1/3 and y = -5.so -3(1/3) - 10(-5) = -1 - (-50) = 49 so (1/3 , 5) is not a solution.

If the given x, y values satisfy the given equation, then it is a solution plug in -3(1/3)-10(-5) which comes as 49 and is not equal to 51.So it is not a solution
