okay, help please! find the distance between each pair of parallel lines y = -3 y = 1 thanks!

Since y= -3 and it is parallel, you can use the point (0,-3) and (0,1) for y=1 (because they're easier to deal with. you can use any number for x as long as y is the same). Just use distance formula which is d=√(x1-x2)^2+(y1-y2)^2. Then plug the numbers in and you should get 4.and easier way is since they're parallel, you can just graph both equations and count how many units are in between
