multiply top equation by to get 10x+10y=100 and other equation is still 10x+6y=84 subtract top equation from bottom x's cancel and 4y=16; y=4 substitute 4 for y and x=6

You can also multiply the top equation by 6 and the bottom equation by 5. You will get 30y in both equations, and you can use the elimination method there by subtracting the bottom equation from the top equation.so, -20x = 120, so x = -6.
