Multiply both sides by -3 -3(y-1) = (-3)(-1/3)(x-3) -3y + 3 = x-3                       Subtract 3 from both sides -3y = x-6                             Add 3y to both sides 0 = x + 3y - 6             You can switch sides if you wish

simplify with 1/3 and distribute that to get y-1=-1/3x+1 add 1 to both sides to get y=-1/3x+2 next since you want 3y multiply out by 3 to get 3y=-x+6 then take all the terms over to y's side to get x+3y-6=0
