Well, I would say meats are acidic, not most foods. Carbonic foods (can of soda) and foods that contain nucleic acids and amino acids are acid forming.

Fruits, vegetables and dairy products may seem to be acidic at first (like lemon, pH1.87). However when digested it actually swaps its pH to 9, the highest alkaline edible food to be eaten.
