Pauline -If you have graphing paper, it will help to plot these two points on paper and connect them with a straight line.  This will help you "see" the slope of the line.  Does the line climb up or go down?  If it goes up, then you know the slope has to be positive.  If it goes down, the slope must be negative.If you draw an accurate picture, you can extend the line to see where the line crosses the y-axis (the y-intercept).Slope-intercept form: y = mx + b, where m is the value of the slope and b is the y-intercept.  The y-intercept happens when x=0.  Well, the problem tells you that.  When x is 0, y = -7, agree?  So, we know the equation so far is y = mx -7.  Now let's find m.Now, just plug in the x and y values from these two points and plug in your answer for m into this equation:y = mx - 7Hope that helps
