Once you've read the book, list the main points:- The characters- Setting (time & place)- The plot (simply the main problem)- Any intentions of the characters in the beginning of the book- Key eventsBasically the 5 Ws: Who, What, Where, When, Whyand the extra How?Once you're done with that, use these points and turn them into the summary. Remember not to add too much detail, that ruins the story. You want to create something like a blurb, but plus the ending. Read a couple plot overviews in SparkNotes to get a jist of it. But unlike SparkNotes, put less detail. For example, if the protagonist had a couple adventures in Egypt, the Amazon, China and a couple other countries, just write he travelled around the globe. You want to be simple, but when there are key events within the broad events you need to add them, or else it'd be a boring summary.
