for pure math 20 we have to find the Vertical Distance - the horizontal distance and the shortest distance for y=2x+4 and y=2x-3  I am not sure how to do this can you help me

The two lines are parallel because they have the same slope, so the distance between the two lines (minimum) is 3.913 and the horizontal distance is when the ys are equal so 2x +4 = 2x -3 ::: (x-x)= 3.5... The vertical distance is when the xs are equal so y = y+7, the (y-y) = 7, so the vertical distance is 7
