Perimeter formula is:P = 2L + 2WWe have 54 to plug into that for P.  And they said that L = W + 3.  Subtracting 3 from both sides of that gives us L - 3 = W and now we have something to plug in for W in our formula.  Then we will only have variables of L and we can solve it.  Plugging these in we have:54 = 2L + 2(L - 3)Distribute the 2,54 = 2L + 2L - 6Combine like terms,54 = 4L - 6Add 6 to both sides,60 = 4LDivide both sides by 4,15 = LThe Length is 15 units long.
