There are 6 sides to a cube.  One side of the cube would need x strips of 2cm wide tape to cover a 10cm x 10cm square.  Thus, each strip will be 10cm long and we need 2x = 10.  Therefore, it will take 5 strips of tape to cover one side.  Since the cube has 6 sides, we need 5(6) = 30 strips of 10cm long tape or 300cm of tape to cover the cube.
