No formula needed. Let A = Al Let J = John Let G = George A + J = 27 J + G = 24 A + G = 23 ======== A + J = 27 J = 27 - A 27 - A + G = 24 .......A + G = 23 27 + 2G = 47 2G = 47 - 27 2G = 20 G = 20/2 G = 10 George is 10 years old. A + G = 23 A + 10 = 23 A = 23 - 10 A = 13 Al is 13 years old. A + J = 27 13 + J = 27 J = 27 - 13 J = 14 John is 14 years old.
