You can buy plexiglass tubes that can be connected to a good vacuum pump that will pump out most of the air.  The tubes may come with a coin and a feather or something light weight with the same surface area as the coin like a piece of paper.  Clamped off and removed from the pump this tube will act similar to the hammer feature activity.  I suppose if you made a much bigger and stronger tube you could do the hammer feather drop.
