You are subtracting a negative integer from a negative integer.-8 stays as it is, however - (-2)  means that the term inside the grouping (-2) is to be turned into a positive 2 because the minus sign in front of the grouping ( ) means that everything inside the grouping turns into its opposite sign.the problem is now -8 +2 = -6

well since there are 2 negative signs next to eachother, the negative 2 turns into a positive 2. so it would be -8 + 2 which equals -6

-6 -8-(-2) In this problem you would Add the Opposite. So you would change the subtraction sign to addition and then change the -2 to a positive 2.
