To find the domain, you find all the values of x such that the function evaluated at x is a real number. So in this case the denominator cannot be zero so x cannot equal -5, and the number under the root sign is zero or positive, so x >= -5. Combining the two requirements you get a domain of all values of x such that x > -5. In set builder notation this is written as { x | x > -5}.
