That is in the format, f(x)= ax^2 + bx+ c solve by x= [-b (plus or minus the square root of) (b^2) - 4ac ]  / 2a x=[ -2 (+ or -) square root of (4-(4)(2)(3))] / 4x= [-2 (+ or -) square root of -20)] / 4 which is an imaginary number. you can stop there or x= [-2 (+ or -) 2i times the square root of 5] / 4 reduce it z= [-1 (+ or -) i times square root of 5] / 2
