slope = (y2-y1)/ (x2-x1) the 2 being the numbers on Q, the 1 being the number on M so y2= -1, y1= 5, x2= 3, x1= x, slope=4 4= (-1-5) / (3-x)4= -6 / (3-x)multiply (3-x) on both sides4(3-x) = -612-4x = -6-4x=-18x= 4.5
