Just watched the Valence electron video. I am sure a mistake was made. Fluorine has 7 VE, not 8. Correct??

Haven't seen the video, but fluorine is one short of the octet, so yes it has 7 not 8 valence electrons.

yes 7 valence electrons. first shell must have 2 and next shell has 7. because 2 fills first and 8 fills 2nd but you dont have ten you only have nine. Fluorine is part of halogens and highly reactive because it only needs 1 more electron to fill its outer shell.
