How do I work this problem?  R is the midpoint of PS.  Find the value of x PR = 3x + 2, RS = 5x - 4

If R is the midpoint PS, then PR is the same length as RS. The midpoint coordinate on the x-axis and the midpoint coordinate on the y-axis are also half way in between the two coordinate pairs.So:PR=RS3x + 2 = 5x-43x + 6 = 5x6 = 2x3 = x
