it can't be factored, but you can use the formula to get 'x'. When 'aχ² + bχ+ c=0' is given, x = {-b ± root(b squared - 4ac)} / 2a therefore, x = {-2 ± √(4-4×1×10)}/2×1 = (-1±√-36)/2 = -1±6i/2  so, x = -1±6i/2

the sentence, 'When 'aχ² + bχ+ c=0' is given, ' should be 'When a x squared + bx + c = 0 is given'

you have to use the quadractic formula.
