so i should always guess if i can eliminate one, even if you have no idea what the other ones are.  Should you still guess?  Im very confused

Well, by eliminating one, you have a 25% chance of getting the correct answer. If you don't even answer the question, you'll have a 0% chance of getting the right answer. When it's crunch time, I'd take any chance.
