I think you meant -4x + 9y = -7 now follow my steps 9y = 4x -7 y = 4/9x - 7/9 4/9 is the slope. for the parallel line, substitute the coordinates into the equation to find b 2 = 4/9(-1) + b 2 + 4/9 = b 22/9 = b there fore the equation is y=4/9x + 22/9

-4x-9y =-7 can be rewritten as y = -4/9x+7/9 .Then you use the formula y-y1=m(x-x1) to get y-2=-4/9(x+1) ,that is y = -4/9x+14/9
