ok. this question is worded weirdly. or maybe i misunderstood it but i think it should be done like this:there is a solution. let the total solution be x.30% of x = 100or, 0.3x= 100or, x = 1000/3 grams.50% of x = 1/2 * 1000/ 3 = 500/3gramsgrams tht should be added = 500/3 - 100  = (500-300)3  = 200/3 grams.thus, 200/3 grams of sugar must be added to 100 grams of a 30% solution to obtain 50% solution.
