If you are using a Windows PC, you should be able to do this:1) Click in the are a where you want to type the symbol2) Hold down the ALT button on your keyboard3) Press the 2, 5, and 1 buttons on your numberpad (in the section to the right, not the ones above your main typing buttons; for this, make sure your Numberlock is on by pressing the button marked "Num Lock" so that you see a light come on on your keyboard) right after the other.4) Let go of the ALT button, and this should appear: √Hope I helped!

In the tool bar above the text input area, there is a button next to the smiling face. It will let you input the special characters. Like this: √2 = square root 2
