First let's see if we can simplify the problem by making the  coefficient of x (12) and the constant (147) smaller:which means dividing both them by the largest common number possible. here I think it's 3 , so we will end up with:3(4x^2 -49). now let's look at inside of the parenthesis, we have 2 whole numbers 4(2^2) and 49(7^7) that can be factorized further (since we a negative sign in the middle of them means our constant will be negative and positive when we factor. here is what I mean:3(4x^2 - 49) = 3(2^2 x^2 - 7^2) = 3(2x -7)(2x +7)if you do FOIL you can check the result.I hope this helps.Kamel
