divide 3.5 by 5 and get .7 subtract the exponents in the powers of 10 and get -6-3=-9 put it together .7 x 10^-9 but this is not in proper form yet. Move the decimal point one place to the right and subtract one more from the exponet to get 7 x 10^-10
