When it asks me to write the general solution after I solve the equation what do they mean wouldn't it just be the answer??

first change √12 to 2√3 2tanx = -2√3 tanx = -√3 tanx = -√3 at 2π/3 and 5π/3 So x = 2π/3 and 5π/3 The general solution is asking for all possible values of x. (Since tangent is periodic)This is found by adding multiples of π to your original answer for x x = 2π/3 + nπ
