Interesting question.In five years, all 100 people will have seen their age increase by five years. It stands to reason that their collective average age would also increase 5 years. Both the mean and the median also increase by 5 years.Standard deviation measures the average "distance" between the mean average and each data point...sort of. The point is that standard deviation measures how spread out a data set really is.Standard deviation only changes if some of the data changes or all of the data changes in different ways.The standard deviation in your case doesn't change. All the data has 5 years added.
