More than half of the students  are excited about the project. In fact 11/12 of them are excited. If 10 students are not excited about the project, how many students are excited?

Well, I'm not in Algebra II yet, but I think I may know the answer to this one.   11/12 of the students are excited. This means that 1/12 of the students are not. that 1/12 accounts for 10 students. So, we can use a porportion: 10/x = 1/12 x = 120 There are 120 students in total. Now we find 11/12 of the students, which are the students that are excited. 120(11/12) 10(11)   [I simplified it.] 110 110 students are excited for the project.   I'm open to any critiques, again I'm not yet in Algebra II.
